Why Choose Me?There are many counselors out there, so why might I be the counselor for you?
Four reasons:
Life Experience First, I've been through many of the negative experiences that we eventually go through in life. I've learned through first-hand experience that there are many ways to do something wrong, but I've also learned what works. Those without that life experience may be able to offer techniques, but will they understand from their heart? I understand from my heart what you might be going through, not just with my head, and I know how to help. In addition, we all grow up with influences that help us think that we need to earn love or acceptance by doing something successfully, or being perfect, and when we aren't, we blame ourselves for not being acceptable or lovable. In counseling with me, a person can find that they ARE acceptable and lovable at their core without doing anything to earn it. When they realize this, they begin to smile more, relax more, and enjoy life more. I think that's why I do what I do and that's why I love it. |
Latest Developments in Counseling
Secondly, counseling is a quickly changing field and new techniques and new ways of helping are important to know. I have a recent master's degree in mental health counseling giving you access to the latest research and trends in counseling. Intimacy with God Thirdly, my years of living a personal relationship with God have given me much heart-knowledge of a very loving and grace-filled God. My Master of Divinity degree helped me stay true to the Biblical Jesus. Here's what I've consistently found: God never pushes us away or has no time for us. He always has His arms open wide to us to comfort and guide us to a better way. He never is sarcastic or says, "I told you so." He loves us so much He sent his Son Jesus to die in our place for the sins we have committed and will commit. He was glad to do this so He could have this tender relationship with us. All He wants from us is to accept that He paid the price for our freedom, since we could not pay it. He also wants us to take part in this loving, intensely intimate relationship with Him. He is a happy God and wants you in His life if you want Him (not religion, but Him). If that interests you we could talk about it, but we don't have to if you don't want to. Know that He can be your greatest resource for help as well as your greatest friend. Affordable Finally, I don't think that counseling needs to cost as much as it does these days. Many licensed counselors charge over $150 for the first session and many charge much more than that. My rates are only $130 per session and you can save 10% by paying for four sessions in advance. I also am an in-network provider for Optum/United Health Care and for many, but not all Blue Cross Blue Shield plans. So why should you choose me as your counselor? Life experience, Up to date counseling, Intimacy with God, and Price. |
